Pain is a subjective thing and its over so quickly that it is pretty impossible for anyone to tell you what a piercing feels like other than a rough estimation from their personal point of view. This said though, a piercing is never going to be as bad as you think it will simply because of the procedure you are undergoing: the clamps go on, the needle goes in, the jewellery goes in the needle / needle sleeve, then the needle /sleeve comes out and the jewellery is tightened. It is not a prolonged pain or a long process so whatever you have done you can rest assured will be bearable!

If you want a rough pain measurement then please refer to the lists bellow which have the average pain of a piercing out of 10 (with 10 being unbearably awful). These were compiled by 'clubberdude' from the bodyjewelleryshop forums and are the results of a survey of over 1500 piercings.

You are welcome to post in this thread and ask about the pain of a particular piercing from our members but we are going to be unlikely to be able to tell you any more than these results can!

At the end of the day its best to bare in mind this: If piercing was REALLY painful people simply wouldn't get it done, let alone go back for more!

Hope that helps!
